According to an official source, a woman from Kinathukadavu went to a medical centre with abdominal pain in April 2019. "She underwent a full body checkup. She was told that it was better to remove her uterus as it was weak. On November 26, 2019, she went to a private hospital in the city and consulted the chief medical officer. They recommended an immediate surgery, costing Rs40,000. The surgery was performed the same day."
